History of Forward Electronics
Mid 1930's
Melvin Strombeck opened a radio parts and service company called Radio Service Co.
Early 1940's
George Hablewitz and Adrian White acquired the company, now called Radio Service Supply Co., Inc.
1957
Adrian White is killed in a car accident. George Hablewitz becomes the sole owner of Radio Service Supply Co., Inc.
1966
Hablewitz sold the company, and the company changed its name to Radio-Television Service Supply Inc. as it ventured into the television parts business.
1968
Forward Communications buys Radio-Television Service Supply and changes the name to Forward Electronics Inc. Lee Duncan operated the company, first as vice president and later as president. Forward Communications, based in Wausau Wisconsin, at one time owned WSAW-TV7 and WSAU radio in Wausau; television stations in Madison, Wi; Peoria, Ill.; Wheeling, W. Va.; and Odessa, Texas; another radio station and the Marshfield News-Herald.
1982
Company name changed to Forward Electronics of Wausau Inc.
1984
Wesray Inc., a New Jersey investment company and Forward Communications managers bought Forward Communications, then during the next four years sold all the company's assets except Forward Electronics.
December 1989
A group of employees and investors buys all Forward Electronic stock from Wesray Inc.
October 2008
Forward Electronics sells Muzak contracts/sales to Pridham Electronics and partners with them for installation and servicing of Muzak customers.
